According to an interview with Charlie Brooker in, ahem, a trashmag, “fancying anyone on television is a sure-fire indication of a profound and rapidly impending mental collapse.”
Given the sheer amount of people I know who have various levels of crush on Charlie, I grinned. Lots. :D
Wrong, Carl Jung, very wrong. Jung brought so much to the fields of psychology and psychiatry, but this view of mental illness should have been dropped like any other disproved hypothesis. It is dangerously incorrect, and propagating that kind of outdated, misinformed attitude only serves to increase the stigma attatched to mental illness, discourage sufferers from seeking treatment, and ultimately adds to the problem. Organisations like Mind and Rethink are the antidote to Jung’s nonsense.(via nerdsoup)
I’m starting to see the problem with tumblr: it’s full of Charlie Brooker and - let me finish THAT ISN’T THE PROBLEM - and I want to reblog all of it. Because it’s amazing. But I must. Not. Reblog. Everything. Ngh help.
