So I'm blogging about music now.

http://so-much-trouble.blogspot.com/ is about a life lived through music. Basically, not much happens - but songs do.

It starts smack in the middle of Britpop. Nothing was ever the same.

Depression and the Doctor → fearitselfandmonsters.blogspot.com

I blog on depression. The current update is something of a one-off; a discussion of mental health issues and the current series of Doctor Who. Thought I’d share it here.

sorry i can't figure out how to reply to replies via tumblr, so i'm replying via ask. Rue Britannia is amazing, especially if you lived through Britpop (which being an old person, I have). It brings back so much memories of that time, and I highly recommend it. I loved the Singles Club too, but for me it hit a bit too close with the story of confused youngsters in love with a indie music soundtrack, so that has hampered the reading someone, being all emo reminiscing. But I have to say those two books summed up my life in music. If you like phonogram, you should download the music podcast curated by its creators here: http://www.londonfieldsradio.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Phonogram-Takeover.mp3 How did you come across phonogram? Sorry if that was a bit long!

I never really got over Britpop. I try not to get stuck in nostalgia for the sake of nostalgia but dammit, I remember when Oasis and Blur were on the news over which one was going to sell more records, I remember when the future of music was Menswear - Menswear! - and I remember when it was all so very exciting and new and it was me and a radio against the world. It was amazing. I know a lot of it was coloured by being a young’un, but still. It’ll never feel like that again.

Ooh I went off on one there. I actually found Phonogram through someone I went on a disastrous date on. Heh. He did recommend Singles Club though and I loved it, so it wasn’t all bad. That’s just typical though, isn’t it?

Eee I didn’t know about the podcast! Thanks very much! :D

Carcillo runs into Carter.

What a winner.

Best thing ever to happen in Stanley Cup Finals? VERY POSSIBLY.
